New railway engineering building

Tuesday, 21. January 2025

The approach to Lucerne station is one of the busiest sections of the railway network in Switzerland. To ensure that trains can continue to run safely and on time in the future, SBB is replacing, renewing and expanding various railway systems between 2022 and 2024. We were commissioned with the project planning and specialist construction management of the new railway technology building (BTG), which replaced the existing Gütsch signal box building (SW02). The telecoms and safety systems were relocated to the new building. The new BTG has specific requirements for the building services installations. The Gütsch signal box (STW) was completely dismantled.
